Cook Islands Expedition

Aitutaki, also traditionally known as Araura, Ararau and Utataki is one of the Cook Islands North of the Capital Rarotonga.  The island has an estimated population of 2,000.

Aitutaki is world famous for its turquoise central lagoon, uninhabited islands and palm fringed beaches. Our Cook Islands expedition will allow you as a volunteer to explore the islands intimacy and be drawn in by its incomparable beauty. Our 14 day expedition will compliment your project work, however this is an optional part of our program but we recommend it not to be missed!

Gina's Garden Lodges will be the provider of our accommodation whilst we carry out our projects in the Cook Islands.

The accommodation is set in a stunning tropical gardens, built on family land owned by traditional leader Queen Manarangi Tutai. Each lodge is self contained and will accommodate a maximum of 4 adults.

The lodges are self catering - there is no restaurant on site that provides food. However each Lodge has full cooking facilities, with a small electric stove with oven and grill, electric frying pan, electric toaster, electric jug , pots, pans and all cooking utensils plus cups saucers, plates and cutlery , and a good sized refrigerator.

We recommend that each volunteer contributes £35 towards the budget for food for the duration of their stay.

The Accommodation provides  toilet paper, toilet soap, sugar, tea, coffee, mosquito coils,  matches mortein insect  spray and lux liquid.

Each Lodge is very well furnished for comfortable and relaxed living. The beds are superior, and comprise one double bed and single bed downstairs, with two single beds in a mezzanine loft accessed by a staircase. There is a large covered verandah overlooking the garden.
